I've never been good with any type of collectors items. I've always wanted to touch, when you should really just look. When I was really little, I once got a limited edition (I think) Barbie for Christmas, and I was determined to keep it in the box, didn't work out that what. Not to long after Christmas I couldn't help it and took it out of the box and that was that...and probably more than you wanted to know, but I have a problem with not stopping while I'm ahead.  :-[

Lets go back to jewels. I wonder how many royal jewels Camilla gets to keep.

Probably only those which were personal gifts to her.  If they are listed on the "crown jewels" to be inherited by each monarch (many of Queen Elizabeth's fall into this catagory) she wouldn't get to keep them or pass them onto her heirs.

queen elizabeth? If you are referring to HM the Queen, don't forget she inherited  A LOT of jewels independant of the crown from HM Queen MARY including :

1.) The Vladimir Tiara
2.) The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara
3.) The Russian Kokoshnik Tiara
4.) Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara
5.) "Granny's Chips" - Cullinan III & IV

The Queen Anne and Queen Caroline Pearl Necklaces were given as Wedding presents by her father King George VI, and not to mention she's had the Burmese Ruby Set and the George VI Victorian Sapphire set made, and the Brazilian Parue made after her accession, not to mention the private stuff that hasn't seen light since HM QM died..  IMO,  I would say most if HM the Queens is PERsonal, and there is a lot more , way more stuffed in a vault and hasn't been seen since 1950-1952

She had great taste in jewels. The champagne color diamond earrings are the best !
The Duchess of Windsor had no champagne coloured diamond earrings in her sale...they were canary yellow!

Yes. Those are the ones I talked about. She bought them herself and selected by the Duke.

When you are saying "which jewels can Camilla keep", what exactly is meant by "keep"?  Someday Camilla will have an astounding collection of jewels at her disposal.

1.  The jewels inherited from her family or given her by her first husband (if any exist)
2.  Any jewels Charles gave her privately, and those she received privately from others (the Saudi's, etc.)
3.  Any jewels Charles inherited privately from his grandmother The Queen Mother
4.  HM The Queen's Private Jewels )
5.  and Crown-owned jewels

I imagine category #1 and #2 are Camilla's personally and independent of Charles, and those are hers to "keep" or distribute to her heirs however she sees fit.  Some of these may eventually pass to her children / grandchildren, but perhaps others will remain with the royal family (ie. be bequeathed to William / Harry etc).

I suspect #3 still legally belongs to Charles (and #4 eventually will) and their disposal is a matter for him; I have no doubt Charles will pass those directly to his heirs, not hers.

Category #5 will be worn by Camilla as consort to the heir (later sovereign), they cannot be disposed of.

If Camilla accepts gifts of jewels from Saudis, wouldnt that either be something the state would posssess as she would be there on an official capacity or considerred to be accepted in dubious taste (possibly influence peddling)?  There would also be the idea that the jewelry could be seen to be influence peddling or possibly a potential bribe as was the case where the Kazakh politician's son bought Prince Andrew's house for above market value.
