I am familiar with the "castle" in Malibu, I used to live in West LA and spent a lot of time in Malibu for work and with friends. The Faberge eggs were indeed the little charm bracelet eggs which Faberge sold by the hundreds. They actually were not so terribly expensive to purchase new in Imperial times, costing the equivalent today of anywhere from $100 to $1000 each depending on the materials and stones. That is why they were so popular, as they made "Faberge" available to most of the middle class.
