Count (Admiral) Poutiatine/Putyatin
« on: November 12, 2007, 04:44:13 PM »
I am looking for information or relations to (Count) Admiral Evfimiy Vasilievich Poutiatine, who first in Russian History signed in Japan the Treaty in 1855 . He was the first who successfully established a trade and diplomatic relations with Japan.
He married a great great aunt in England and then moved to St Petersburg, then Paris.
I am eager to find out more about his offspring. I know some of them moved to England.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Admiral Count Putyatin was not related to Princes Putyatin. He was born to less aristocratic family of the same name and created count after his successful mission to Japan.

He had six children:
Vassili 1846—1887
Olga 1848—1890
Maria 1850—1887
Evgenii 1852—?
Elisaveta 1853—?
Avgustin 1856—1877.

Well Moffatt, you're related to Admiral Charles Knowles aren't you?
