The Cast of Nicholas & Alexandra - Where are They Now?
« on: July 03, 2006, 01:36:00 AM »
I loved both Lynne Frederick and Candace Glendenning in the film Nicholas and Alexandra and was interested to find out what they went on to do after, and where they are now.
There is lots of info on the net about Lynne Frederick, but there seems to be some mystery surrounding Candace Glendenning.  No one seems to know what has become of her. :-?
I was hoping someone on this forum could maybe spread some light on the subject.
Thanks

Yes, not much is heard of about Candace Glendenning. All I know is that Candace ("Candy") was born on 9th August, 1953 in London, England. I don't think she has starred in too many movies.

All I know about Lynne is that she was born on July 25th, 1954, and died on April 27th, 1994. She was British, born in Hillingdon, Middlesex and her movie career began in 1970. So her role as Tatiana in Nicholas and Alexandra was one of her firsts along with Henry VIII and his Six Wives, in which she starred as Catherine Howard and The Amazing Mr. Blunden. Lynne often got good reviews for her leading roles but her career went down in a short amount of time. She married three times to:

1) Peter Sellers (actor and comedian)
2) Sir David Frost
3) Barry Unger

Lynne was criticised after her first marriage (to Peter Sellers) because the public believed she only wanted to further her own career.

She died in Los Angeles after suffering from alcoholism for several years.

No problem! :)

I also forgot to say that Candy was best known for her 1970s horror films such as Satan's Slave and Tower of Evil and The Flesh and Blood Show. She has also appeared in television serious such as Ripping Yarns and Blake's 7 and Dixon of Dock Green.

I don't know much, perhaps she wasn't very famous and only starred in very few entertainments.. :-/

And I don't think much is known about Ania Marson (Olga) and Roderic Noble (Alexey)..

And I forgot to say, welcome to the AP, melody!!! :)

I heard that Candace Glendenning commited suicide, though I'm not sure. I did numerous searches for Ania Marson and Roderic Noble, but I never found any information on them.

Whoa!!! :o That would be shocking if Candy committed suicide!

I think that Ania marson has appeared in a few entertainments. To see where Ania has appeared click here. She has, like Candy, appeared in Blake's 7; played Olga in The Strauss Family. She has also appeared in The Abdication and Dixon of Dock Green (like Candy).

The only entertainment I've heard of Roderic Noble appearing in is Nicholas and Alexandra. These are his only pictures from BoyActs.com

Yes i heard that too, it would be very sad if it is true.  It`s just so strange that no one can find out anything about her.
Apparently when Norman J Warren was releasing Satan`s slave on DVD he searched for her to perhaps talk about the film in the extra`s.  He asked all her friends from the 70`s and they all didnot know what had happened to her after that time. :-?   very strange.

But he did say some nice things about her though,

quote;  She`s the one we`d love to find.  She vanished completely.  She`s georgous. Not just a lovely girl, but stunningly beautiful and such a lovely person, you would adore her.  Everyone just fell in love with her.  She was quiet, like a little doll, perfect in every way with those stunning eyes, gosh!
Hazel Malone (casting) tried to find her, we had friends of Candace trying to find her.  No one knew where she had gone.  I just hope there`s nothing sinister there.  It was around the time when she was doing some television work in her late 20`s that she vanished.  Very weird.

Lynne Frederick's grandmother was in a rest home owned by my family and my father got to know her and her mother quite well.  She signed my Nicholas and Alexandra movie program and was by my father's account extremely nice, though they were aware at the home that Lynne was an alcoholic.  I kept on telling my father I wanted to meet her, but somehow it was never arranged.  I was quite disappointed about it and shocked to learn that she had died at such a young age.  Her last husband was a doctor here in Santa Monica, Calif. and it wasn't, if I recollect rightly, Barry Unger.  I remember a name like Dr. Lyttle, or something to that affect.  Anyhow, it was a sad end to a gorgeous girl and an actress who did some good work in the few roles in which I had seen her.

By the way, I think my dad told me that her grandmother had been a seamstress and had done some work for Queen Mary...but I wouldn't swear to that.
So long and thanks for all the fish
