Beloselsky-Belozersky

(1/9) > >>

Steven:
I understand that a Princess Beloselsky-Belozersky married a New Yorker some time in the late 1960's. Does anyone have any more information on this?

Also, is this family extinct in the male line? Thanks

Alexandra_2:
You are correct that the direct male line died out in 1978 with Prince Serge.  He married Florence Crane, an American heiress, in the 1940s which may be what you are thinking of.

However, the family still survies through female descendants and other descendants not as closely realted.  One of Prince Serge's cousins was my grandfather.

Prince Serge's memoirs were published with forwards by Marvin Lyons and Baron Leonid Platonovitch von Wrangell.  I don't know that it was ever circulated much beyond the family and close friends, but you may be able to track it down on the internet.

David_Pritchard:
If one of the two daughters of the Prince Sergei Sergeevich had a son, he could petition Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna to use the name, title and arms of the Princes Beloselsky-Belozersky with the addition of his paternal surname. A friend of mine who is a Russian nobleman, has done this with his son as the son's mother is the last of the Princely family of Turkestanov. When the mother passes away, the son will become Prince Turkestanov-Dumin.

Alexandra_2:
Both of his daughters have sons.

David_Pritchard:
Then the name, title and arms should righhtfully go to the eldest son of the first born daughter, that is if he wants to petition for this change to HIH Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna. If you have further interest in this topic, please write to me. I can scan one of these decrees for assumption of name, title and arms if you would like to see one.
