For Nicholas II a great actor would be probably Colin Ferrell, he has blue eyes all he needs is to put on the weight and get a beard.
For Tsarina Alexandra maybe Kate Winslet or Cate Blanchett would be perfect for the role
for Grand Duchess Olga who really looks like her I would say Julia Stiles.

Oh yes. She´s got the the same nose and deep look, has fair hair and same mouth. The shape of the face is little different, but hey... this is Meryl Streep and her acting would be SO fabulous we would believe she IS Alexandra

I never thought of Meryl Streep as Alexandra, but seeing the photos posted, I agree she would be quite good actually, if soon too old.

In a few years time I'd cast Julia Ormond as Marie Feodorovna.

Personally, I think Janet Suzman was awesome, Michael Jayston was a great Nicholas, Gretta Sacchi was terrible, Ian McCellan was ok-ish, Meryl Streep would make a good Alix, but I'm kind of shocked, and we need to get Medvedev out of politics NOW, maybe as an actor?

Keep in mind I've only seen Rasputin and Nicholas and Alexandra. 

I want to someday soon produce my own amateur movie on the Romanovs.  I've got a pretty good cast, too, in my opinion.

I think it's fun finding popular people who could be in future Romanov movies.  We'll be laughing if they DO make one.

Maybe you need a bit of tolerance and to know that oppinions are different. I think Greta was much more believable, while Janet Suzman, even though unmistakably good actress over-played everything too much for my taste.

About Greta Scacchi, she is a very talented actress, I have seen her in other movies and I've always found her interpretations very good, and she portrayed Empress Alexandra with real class.
