Jean d'Orléans, Duc de Guise (1874-1940) and his family
« on: September 25, 2007, 01:11:29 PM »
:)Hello Britt !

These photographies are taken from "Mon Album de Famille" of Henri Comte de Paris, written by his nephew Michel Prince de Grèce ( Michael Prince of Greece).
Published by Librairie Académique Perrin, Paris 1996
ISBN 2.262.01237.7
It is a very beautiful photobook from which I discovered these pictures of Princess Isabelle and  Prince Murat.
It is mentionned under the photographies that the alliance between the two dynasties Bourbon-Orléans and Bonaparte was much discussed...

The same as it was with Clémentine of Belgique ( who had also Orléans blood) who married Prince Napoléon...

Can anybody repost the picture of Isabelle and Prince Murat please?
It was posted by Frimousse many months ago, from the book "mon album de famille" by Henri, count of Paris. But it unfortunately it was taken away by anyone, and I have lost it, because my PC was broken and my picture archives all got lost.
Frimousse was not active here since march and did not reply my PM.
Can anybody help me with the picture???
PLEASE!

Any idea, where to get the picture once again? I'm so unhappy that I've lost it. Can anybody post it again?

I think Britt.25 doesn't ask such a wise advice.  She asks about posting the picture.

Britt, I'll try to dig out the picture, I guess I have it somewhere. If I'll find it I send you a PM.

It was from the book "mon Album de famille" by Henri of Orleans/Michael of Greece.

And it showed Isabelle d'harcourt and her husband Prince Pierre Murat in swimming cloth and with swimming stuff.  It was quite funny and rare. As far as I can remember it Prince Murat was smoking and had bare feet, both were sitting. It would be wonderful, if anybody could find that picture or has the book. Would be great because I lost all my picture archives by a recent PC crash and I'm desperately looking for that picture again. :'( :'( ;)

Isabelle's 4 children were from her 1st husband Count d'Harcourt.

Yes, that's right. Isabelle, daughter of Jean, duc de Guise and Isabella d'Orléans, had four children by her first marriage with Bruno d'Harcourt, and married Prince Pierre Murat in her second marriage. She did not have any children from her second marriage.
BUT: Isabelle's daughter Isabelle (same name) married again a descendant of Caroline Bonaparte and Joachim Murat: Prince Louis Marie Joachim Napoléon Murat and had six children by him. They are all married and have a lot of descendants.
Again a connection of the families Bonaparte- Orléans, surely not without problems, but interesting and evidently not unhappy, what the number of six children seem to prove! :) ::)

Which one? Isabelle had three daughters by Bruno d'Harcourt. Anyway, there is definitely a pic of Isabelle and her children in "Mon album de famille" ... maybe there are even more. I'll have a look.

Sorry, I ment the one, who is also called Isabelle, and who married Prince Louis Murat. I think, I've once seen that picture, it was here as well, but somebody took it away..It showed Isabelle d'Harcourt and her daughters...Maybe it could be interesting for me to purchase that book as well, but I suppose it's very hard to get. ::)

I dedicace this thread to the three sisters of the late Count of Paris, Isabelle, Françoise and Anne of Guise, whose often tragic destiny deserves to be known.

I invite all members of the forum to participate if they wish. So, thanks to them, i hope to get more information about the life and the daily lives of these 3 princesses to the personality so different but so interesting.

Thank you in advance.
