Joanna dear, these are the photographs that I have always wanted to see!  I can't thank you enough for taking your time to post them. 

I don't know why exactly but I am shocked at all of the bullet holes in the collums....and they are the least of the terrible damage.  The picture of the two statues really moves me, the one still standing and the one fallen over on the ground in such a human pose...looks like a dead soldier.

Where exactly are the German graves?

Having read A. Kuchumov's letters of the war years and after, it is remarkable to see photos from that period.

Love the picture of the storage containers!!

What a wonderful web site - it has everything needed for a trip to Tsarskoe Selo!! Too bad that the AP won't be open until 2018!!!

Joanna, I had not seen this thread.  The photos are astonishing - especially that of boxes of treasures stored in the library.  Thank you for posting these hauntingly eerie pictures.

It - Small library. Who in this room is a kiosk with magazines and souvenirs. A door between the Fair new autochromes Lukomsky. The next room - Corner living room of the Empress. In the photo we see the back door that leads into the hallway from the living room
