Has anyone heard of this new, upcoming book by Carolly Erickson? It looks like it will be about Tatiana Nicholaievna, and is set to be released in September this year.

Here is a link from Amazon.com

All I know is that it's a work of historical fiction.

I hvae recently read Alexandra by this author. I didn´t learn anything new and some things were a pure fiction. It reminded me of Daniel Steel than a serious historian.

Looks like it's about Tatiana, not Olga... But then again, these covers mean nothing...

Yes, on the book cover it wrote, A Novel, so it must be a work of historical fiction, like Sarai said. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find anymore information about this book.

Helen could also be right. Tatiana's 1910 formal photograph may have only been chosen as the book's cover, but it really appears that the book will be about Tatiana Nicholaievna.

At least in this cover they have the right era and right background. Not like the Civil War and a Granduchess. That oughta count for something...

Wouldn't it be funny if they used a picture from American Civil War era on this cover?  lol

Do you mean you think that it's about Olga Nikolaevna? Why do you think that, because she is the oldest?

No, I don't think it's about Olga Nicholaievna. I think it would probably be about Tatiana, but I could be wrong, as sometimes book covers can give a wrong impression, and the book could be based on any of the Grand Duchesses.

Oh ok, sorry, for some reason I thought you initially thought it was about Olga. My mistake!  :-)

I share your opinion. I haven't read any of Erickson's fiction, but her biographies have not been to my taste. Nevertheless, I'm curious...

Me, too! I wouldn't mind reading a fictional book on Tatiana, but what I had forgotten to say is that Carolly Erickson's books don't appear to fascinate a lot of readers. But hopefully this one might be capturing!

I would actually prefer that Erikson writes historical fiction as opposed to non-fiction, since it's clear this is where her heart is... She can have some leeway for some of her ... mmm.. creativity then.

I agree, Helen. I think she is a good writer, but I think she'd be more suited in historical fiction than actual biographies. It seems to me that if she more so often wrote historical fiction, they might be more praised than her biographies.

Well, The Tsarina's Daughter does appear to be historical fiction! Hopefully it will be good, I'm quite excited!

I hope this is going to be about Tatiana!  If it is, I'm going to get it as soon as it's released.

Yup, especially since Annie was only five years old when the American Civil War ended!
