Oh my gosh, I cannot express how glad I am that I decided to look through this thread before ordering the book. I was really excited as I thought it was a biography (as in truth being told) and not fiction. I don't get the point of these kind of books to be honest.

Oh, trust me Zelia, when I checked it out of the library (my local library had to order it from another library, so I had another three days or so to sit in my own excitement), I was so excited. It had a gorgeous cover and was about 300+ pages long. *sigh* Well, page 1 was good (I didn't know enough about the Romanovs then to realize that the age was wrong). After that, it went downhill. Finally, I stopped when Tatiana had her first affair. I'm sorry (actually, I'm not - the girl was 14!!) but I don't read junk like that, with trashy characters. Especially not Tatiana. TATIANA!! She was, to all records, a young woman who knew right from wrong. She wouldn't do that without getting married, especially not at that age. I'm just glad I didn't read any further - it just got even more rediculous. *groan* The cover was the best part. And that's pretty sad. Definitely don't judge a book by it's cover - sometimes the cover is better. Hehe.

Ahem. Please excuse my rantings. ;)

The only thing this book is good for is a good laugh, at all the mistakes.

You're right. At least it's a novel. When i read her Alix'a bio i did not know wheter it was better to laugh or to cry, since it should have been an historical book. That's the reason why i did not read the novel.

You're right. One needs to know before the reading that is not historically accurate, and then... laugh!

Trouble is, of course, that a fair number of readers will not recognise the inaccuracies and treat what they read as truth.
