By now, my friends have learnt to just nod and say yes when I come in and am talking about a new photo or something that I've found.
The best reaction (in my own personal opinion) that I ever got to my interest in the Romanovs was one Christmas, after I'd just recieved another multitude of Romanov-related media and my elderly grandma asked me what one of my books was about. I told her it was about the execution of the Romanovs and was mentally preparing how to explain who the Romanovs were, 'cause bless her, she memory isn't all what it used to be, but all I got was a sad shake of the head and: "Those poor girls..." in obvious reference to OTMA. I felt like bursting into conversation about it, but I left it where it was; she's very emotional (I think she gets all eyed-up at Gone with the Wind) and I didn't want to impart my knowledge of their wonderful life and tragic end on her for that reason.
But of course, when I go on a rant about how historically inaccurate some of the films are or about how books have labelled a photo of Tatiana as Anastasia, I get the usual 'WIERDO!!!' look from my brothers!!!!
Oh, and my mum complains that I have more photos of the Imperial Family on my computer than I do of my own!!!
