1887 & 1897 Jubilees
« on: June 29, 2008, 09:48:32 PM »
I found this description of an opera event during QV's Diamond Jubilee:

The Princess of Wales wore white satin embroidered with silver with a diamond tiara and pearl necklace
The Princess of Naples wore 'wonderful' diamonds
Grand Duchess Serge (Ella) wore the 'largest emerald in the world'
They also serve who only stand and wait--John Milton
