The primary working residence of the President of Russia is the Senate building (also known as 1st building) in the Moscow Kremlin complex. The President also uses the Great Kremlin Palace (the ceremonial residence) and so called 14th building (the reserve residence).

The current (since 2000) President's residence is Novo-Ogaryovo (Russian: Ново-Огарёво).

Also, the President has several vacation residences outside of Moscow.

Rus (Russian: Русь), Zavidovo (Russian: Зави́дово), Tver Oblast
Congress Palace or Constantine Palace complex (Russian: Дворец конгрессов, Константиновский дворец), Strelna (Russian: Стрельня), Leningrad Oblast, reconstructed for 300th Saint-Petersburg anniversary
Bocharov Ruchey (Russian: Боча́ров Руче́й), Sochi
Shuyskaya Chupa (Russian: Шу́йская Чупа́) at a distance of 25 km from Petrozavodsk, Karelia
Uzhin (Russian: Ужи́н) at a distance of 20 km from Valday, Novgorod Oblast
Volzhskiy Utyos sanatorium (Russian: Во́лжский утёс) on Kuybyshev Reservoir shore
Tantal tourist centre (Russian: Танта́л, lit. Tantalum) on Volga bank, at a distance of 25 km from Saratov
Sosny (Russian: Со́сны, lit. pines) on Yenisei bank, near Krasnoyarsk
Angarskie hutora (Russian: Анга́рские хутора́) at a distance of 47 km from Irkutsk
Maly istok (Russian: Ма́лый исто́к) inside Ekaterineburg forestry

And you may find yourself dining with former President Vladimir Putin, now Prime Minister, at the Podvorye Restaurant (Ресторан Подворье) in Pavlovsk. The owner is the one who is restoring Bip!

I think that massive new residence outside of Moscow may be a gift to Putin. I think he might try for a new term as President and then retire to that palace.

That's one hell of a gift! I thought it would be for one of the oil persons who have so much wealth these days. Politicians should not profit from their time in public office and certainly not to that extent, IMHO.

Is there not a limit to the term of office for President, rather like the USA which limits to two terms in office? Always thought that was a mistake because of you are good you can be reelected as many times as the people want you but if dreadful at your job then you are out anyway. In England you can run as Prime Minister as many times as your party will allow you to remain leader and the people can support you, such as Mrs Thatcher and tony Blair. Gordon Brown may not last past one office come May but you never know in politics.

Thank you Robert, I was not aware of that. I assume he will run given a chance and would probably win.

Yes, he could win again, I am positive. When his second term was coming to an end, there was  a movement to change the Constitution so that he  run a for a 3rd term, but he quashed the idea.

Does anyone have any details on these properties? Are any of them former Romanov or Noble properties? Apart from Constantine palace I'm not really familiar with any of them.

Hi Robert,

That would be Strelna...  Putin had it refurbished for the G8 conference and to use as his "home" when visiting SP...
But, I don't think he uses it now.

In 2008, our excurtion bus drove past it on the way to Peterhof;  and it looks quite nice and finely put together.
