"Gossipy" Books on Nicholas II's Reign

I'm also looking for a 'gossipy' bio of NII.  Or an essential memoir or two, or something a little more general - the main thing being that they don't primarily concern themselves with the general historic narrative but rather with more 'mundane' facts and anecdotes of the Tsar's existence.  At times I find this more riveting than more traditional narratives and I'm sure some of you will relate.

I'm looking for similar books about the Kaiser/Imperial Germany (the two rulers of the era along with Edward VII I find the most fascinationg), so if you know any please chime in.

I have access to the digital Washington Post - and have come across numerous articles by dear Catherine (as Count Paul Vassili).  So the Post was one of the US papers to publish her stuff
