I watched a good doco about Russia.

Last night I watched a doco about the HIV epedimic in Russia and I thought it was interesting that one of the hospitals mentioned in St Petersburg is called Botkin Hospital.   Out side of the hospital there was a bust of Dr Botkin.

Really? What a wonderful news!(I meant about Dr. Botkin)
Botkin family was famous in St-Petersburg.
I am so sorry about HIV.   :(

Yes it is getting very bad.  Mostly because this is spreading in young people, mainly prostitutes and those that are living on the streets.  There is infact a mobile unit that offers needles and contraception.

I was impressed that there was a Botkin hospital. Today it helps treat expectant mothers, who might have the diesase so they can deliever healthy babies.

I bet Dr Botkin would be very impressed too.

It is quite easy to see why a hospital would be named after Dr. Boktin.

Here is a thread regarding Dr. Botkin, his family history, and his service to the Imperial Family. May he rest in peace.
