This is why I keep saying that it would be pretty much impossible to determine which one is which when the remains are close in age. Scientists can never pinpoint the age from any remains exactly, or even as close as a couple of years apart (unless it's a very young child perhaps), because in biology nothing is that exact. Two different people can develop at a different enough rate, so there is always something like a six to ten, or sometimes even fifteen, year range when unknown remains are identified in forensics... Which, in the case of the grand duchesses, presents a problem when trying to figure out which is which... If they had their confirmed individual DNA fingerprints, they would be able to know with 100% certainty which one is which, otherwise they can only take educated guesses and say, "most likely this one is Tatiana, and that one is Anastasia, based on [whatever]", but they can't - nor should - say "this one is definitely Tatiana, and this one is definitely Anastasia".
