They came from Miechen's collection.
The sapphire (438 carats) did not come from the Vladimir collection. It was bought from Cartier who hung it on along diamond necklace they had bought back from Nancy Leeds (wife of Prince Christopher of Greece) or her executors.

I thought Missy bought it from Ducky...
The Cartier sapphire pendant (oval, cabacon cut 313 carats) that Marie bought from her sister...never belonged to Meichen..and was never worn by Marie..it was a wedding present for her daughter Elisabeth. I wish you would check these things Eric before making erroneous statements!

Thank you so much for clarifying regarding Missy's jewels ashdean. I thought it didn't sound quite right, poor Eric Lowe must have been mistaken.....(again).

Not really. The sapphire tiara that Missy wore did belong to Miechen's collection. It was listed in the Cartier book by Hans. It was the same one that she gave to Princess Ileana. The large sapphire she wore did came from Cartier and not from Miechen. I think someone is reading between the lines....

NOBODY is reading between the lines..SOMEBODY is firing off answers wthout proper thought because he seems to think the more answers he posts the more likely he is to win a prize of some sort...laurel wreath? (by Chaumet, of course)for most  frequent poster. Perhaps that gentlemen would remember LESS IS MORE!!! and answer properly or not at all.
As for knowing about Cartier and Hans Nadelhoffer I was great friends with that interesting man for the last 7 years of his too short life...4 of which he was researching Cartier in Paris and London...so I think I know where the sapphire diadem came from...

Indeed. I am friends with people who knew royal jewels in London and Spain too. I think poor Eddy did read between the lines. I was always talking about the Sapphire tiara. The sapphire on the chain (I actually held it in my hands when the stuff went to Hong Kong). Lets go back to Missy. Some historians I talked to claimed that Missy did got her jewels back from Russia via an agent, but kept her mouth shut about the incident.

And of course the names of these historians are a great secret as always with your statements. Sources and proofs?

The same person who is doing the book on Dimitri (now the project is in the backburner). The project also included Coryne Hall ( Imperial Dancer, Little Mother of Russia and Once a Grand Duchess). He lives in Seatle I think.
