IF's opinion of Americans

Being American, I am curious as to what the IF's thoughts were about us. How much did the kids know about us and our history?

I see someone in the thread mentioned the assassination attempt on Nicholas II in Japan as a possible starting point of his referring to the Japanese people as "monkeys". Also had read that same explanation in one of the books I've devoured on the IF in the last year.

Tatiana once called the prince of Siam a monkey to his face.  After Alix scolded Tatiana, the prince laughed and apparently they were good friends after.

I'm not sure on the American views. 

I heard that a prince in Japan found OTMA to be very attractive by looking at their pics but I'm sure if that was true.

Personally I don't think that they would know anything about American history, and probably not much about their culture.

I don't think Russia personally cared for Americans.. i know in the Novel by Carolyn Meyer, she wrote that it was funny thinking that the people of America voted for their leader, instead of a God given right.

You made me think of a story about Russo-Jap war where the children seen photos of the Imperial Japanese children and apparently they said they hated the children and called them monkeys too.  And someone said that the war wasn't the Imperial Japanese children's fault and it made the children feel guilty for saying it was lol.

The American thing it is a hard topic
