If you are referring to "
Alix an Gretchen", including telegrams and letters from the Empress to Margarthe von Fabrice, you're right that it is not the same book. Margarethe von Fabrice was not really a 'childhood' friend of the Empress, by the way. She came to work as a lady-companion in Darmstadt on 18 June 1888, when Alix was already 16 years old, whereas Alix's friendship with Toni Becker went back to a much younger age.
