Countess Catherine "Katya" von Carlow (1891-1940) married Prince Vladimir Golitsyn. The Golitsyns fled to England after the Revolution. They lived in London. I believe they owned an antiques shop. They had three sons.
The Golitsyns were very active in London's emigre community. I remember a friend of my grandmother's once told me, that
everybody went to Princess Golitsyn for advice, and if they didn't, she went to them.
She insisted on upholding the old hierarchy, using everyone's old titles, etc. No one would have dreamed of calling her Katya, for instance. She was Princess Golitsyn. That said, Princess Golitsyn was a really extraordinary woman. She had a kind heart and helped many less fortunate families in the Russian community.
After her death Prince Golitsyn married Lady Iris FitzGeorge.
I believe Catherine's mother died in France and is buried in Cannes.
