Referencing Reply # 192 : It is interesting to note that the Emperor has been depicted as having his head "served on a platter", as is often shown of Saint John the Baptist. I am certain that there will be many interpretations of this depiction. And as for the inclusion of G. E. Rasputin, well......a very strange iconography! Has the elevation of G. E. Rasputin been OFFICIALLY sanctioned by the Russian Orthodox Church, either at home or abroad, as a "Passion Bearer," or otherwise? I believe that this may have been previously answered as, "No." While ithis icon is obviously "modern," do we know its origin/location? Regards, AP
