A teeny-tiny summary:
OTMA is a novel, told from the four grand duchesses' point of view, and covering the years between 1914 and 1918.

And a confession: I'm very excited and flattered, but at the same time nervous at the thought of living up to all your expectations -- not to mention my own. ; )

Aloha all!

Sarah you wonderful lady - how fantastic that you are putting your wonderful writing skills and resources (and passion!) into a novel about OTMA!

I also loved "Miss Spitfire" and will be waiting anxiously for the release of your new novel - I know that it will be fantastic and I'll hold a special place in my Romanov library open just for it!

Congrats and now ---- how will we wait?

At long last, I've got clearance to post official cover art:

The title's been changed three times in the last year -- the final version is The Lost Crown.

Still aiming for a summer 2011 release.

I have to admit I do not buy books with a cover like this, I would expect a wild romance between blonde sexy chick and extremely muscular guy who lived happily ever after :) But fortunatelly I know what this one is about, so I´m still tuned :) . But seriously..... the one who designed the cover had tooo little fantasy.

Hey I just found this thread! Really thrilled and cannot wait! Congratulations Sarah!

I thought " Daughters of the Tsar " a wonderful  title and Holly's mock up cover, excellent for young readers. But this is publishing, and as is often the case with  these decisions, they seem to  discount those of us who will buy the book regardless ( like me and the rest of us on AP! ) and seek  the attention of others who may not come to the book  other wise.  But whatever, it's an amazing achievement ! Actuality always is  and I look so forward to it :)

Bob and I are remiss in not adding our own "Brava" and job well done to Sarah. You got no corrections from us because there were none we could find! A beautiful job of story telling without taking noticeable "liberties" with the genuine history and facts.
best wishes for much success!

I too find the cover off-putting, but will look out for the book regardless.

EXACTLY.

This is all I feel comfortable saying about it without risking alienating you guys and/or my publisher: When it comes to cover art, authors (especially authors of historical fiction) are often caught between a rock and a hard place, so please don't assume I'm not satisfied with this compromise between history and teen appeal.
