EXACTLY.
This is all I feel comfortable saying about it without risking alienating you guys and/or my publisher: When it comes to cover art, authors (especially authors of historical fiction) are often caught between a rock and a hard place, so please don't assume I'm not satisfied with this compromise between history and teen appeal.
My dear you could not alienate us here. Your unfailing kindness and knowledge is too well known and cherished...on a daily basis!  The truth is we would buy your book  whatever the cover, ...and gladly! lol!  I felt guilty about complaining later. Because being published and having a new OTMA novel is so wonderful... what is a  cover compared with that? It's worth anything the art dept devises.

Bravo again!  :)

Yep, I agree with blessOTMA :) I did not write that to criticize, it was just the first thing that sprung into my mind. In the end the author and story count, not the cover.

Fear not. The cover and the book are different things entirely.

I think the cover art is lovely. It would be a very good pleasure to have that book here in Philippines but sadly, it would not be :’ (
Btw, I congratulate you many, many times for a job well done, Angel Sarah!! : ))

Amazing colored fotos  by the most wonderful Yelena Aleksandrovna. Endless thank you very much!

Indeed. I dislike the cover somehow too - But I am pretty certain that 'The Lost Crown' hides a treasure inside itself!!! Those years of your Romanov experience will certainly be seen. Congratulations, Sarah!

Aloha all!

I'm honestly thinking of purchasing a "Kindle" just so that I could read this book now!  Amazon has the "kindle" version available - how tempting!

But I'll probably wait until I can order the book itself - and I still have that spot saved in my Romanov library for your book Sarushka!

As far as the cover, we all know the book will be wonderful, so it is a moot point IMO!

I like that cover, actually. But of course, I would read Sarah's book no matter what was cover looked like. I can't wait. Because I know it's written by Sarah, I know there won't be a lot of BS in it!

I actually like the cover, too!  :)
I can't wait for it to come out--I read Miss Spitfire several years ago, before I was interested in the Romanovs, I believe... It was excellent, and I was excited to learn that you were it's author, Sarushka!
Happily anticipating the release of this Romanov novel--one I know I will certainly enjoy!  ;D

Oh, Saruska, that's really exciting and not for one reason!
First of all, it's wonderful you have taken so many informations for your book from here - this means we are making a good job, and, moreover, it confirms you are a vey expert about Romanovs! Like you, starting reading here I found out i didn't know so much about the Romanovs, as i believed. You'd say i'm here since a very little time, and can't say something like this; you'd be right, but the truth is I started reading here long before I joined the Forum and started write in it: i could understand english very good, but i believed i wasn't able to write it, so i just read what you all wrote, at it was amazing.
Secondly, I want to congratulate with you as a "novelist": of course i'm not, not officially (does this word exist in english?). I've written somed 10 novel and some 15 stories about the Romanovs, and never had the strenght and self confidence to try to publish them. Being here, and "witness" you success, waiting for you novel to be available... i'm not only so happy for you, but this makes also a hope for me! I hope you'll gforgive me, i'm being so selfish!
And so brava, and all my compliments. I think you wonderful book will make everyone in the forum feel we are working well  :D and of course, go on this way!

Thank you, Sunny.

I hope you will feel comfortable publishing your stories someday. If not, that's ok too -- the best way to write is for yourself rather than an audience. I can tell you this book was much harder to write than my first, mostly because I'd told a lot of people what I was writing about before I was finished. It's one thing to wonder theoretically what people will think of your work, but quite another to know they're already thinking about it.
