THE LOST CROWN - A New Novel by Sarah Miller.
« on: September 16, 2008, 07:36:58 AM »
OTMA: Daughters of the Tsar.

A new novel about Nicholas II's four daughters coming in 2011 from Atheneum books!

A couple of disclaimers from Sarah Miller:
*Banner made by Holly J. Daugherty, a preemptive fan and fellow Romanov devotee. The Atheneum design gurus will have their way with OTMA all in good time.

*The title - OTMA: Daughters of the Tsar - is tentative and subject to change.

Congratulations, Sarah!!!!

Thanks Holly -- you work fast! And thanks again for the banner.

I dread to think what a superficial, standardized novel I would have written about the imperial family without the friends and resources I've accumulated from the Alexander Palace Time Machine and discussion board in the last three years. When I came here I had no idea how little I actually knew about Nicholas II and his family. I can tell you my book collection alone has increased four-fold, but it's impossible to measure the details, subtleties, and insights I've picked up along the way. So a hearty thanks to everyone who's shared their expertise, photographs, books, films, time, and encouragement. If you're reading this and you have any reason to wonder, "Does she mean me?" then yes, I mean you.

Ally -- I don't know how far abroad this novel is likely to travel, but I'm sure it will be available on Amazon.

Psst, Sarushka - wanna know my dirty little secret? When I saw the title the first thing that came to my mind was "Somebody was quicker" :) because I´m writing a little fictional book myself. But you are absolutely right about the priceless information resourcestaht are available here....

Congratulations Sarah!
I'm really looking forward to your book (which is good, because I usually avoid fiction) and I think it will be fantastic!
I really do think that this is going to be one of the Romanov Fiction books that will set the bar for future fic.
Good luck with all the future editing process, and here we come 2011!

Keep writing, Ally! If you're in Czech Republic, there's very little chance our books would ever have to compete for sales. As far as I'm concerned there's always room for another perspective on this story.

Tom & Laura -- there's a *tiny* chance OTMA could be out before 2011. Atheneum's 2010 catalog is currently full, but my editor and I are going to do our best to have my book ready to print before 2011, just in case a space opens up.

Congratulations, Sarah! :D

I had a feeling that you would one day write about the Romanovs--after all, we spend a lot of time talking about them! Can't wait to read it!

Congrats, Sarah!  How I didn't see this earlier? So, we have to wait for 2011.

Can you tell us more -- would it include all period of lives of OTMA, so from happy begin to sad end, or some parts of their lives you love, for example :OTMA and Livadia in 1914? I so hope you'll include Aleksei in book! Just curious!
