imo, the format could be somewhat  retained...I think episodes with the diffrent GD as the focus could be very interesting in a series. To me the biggest stumbling blocks would be , not the great story and this excellent book....but such things as  production costs etc. It's one of the reason animation is so popular....the " location" and "extras"  are a computer!  But the important point is , a fine script has been written and is in the book ....waiting =)

Not really. I don't know a thing about "translating" a book into a film and wouldn't have the slightest idea where/how to begin.

With Miss Spitfire, revision was more a process of addition than deletion. There were a few pages that were cut, but it would be hard for me to find them now -- I've donated my manuscripts to the children's literature collection at my university.

It's possible to get published without an agent, but it's usually MUCH more challenging.

If you'd like more information on publishing for children/YA, I recommend perusing Verla Kay's message board. (I'm virtually no help when it comes to adult publishing.)

Usually in order to make a movie, someone comes to the writer or whoever owns the copyright to ask for the film rights. Writers don't usually arrange to have a movie made themselves, unless they're Stephen King and just write a screenplay straight off. 

I'd love an audiobook with four different narrators! It'd be even better if voice actors were hired for everyone's individual voices, like Nicholas's, Alexandra's, Aleksey's...but of course that's too awesome to happen.

Don't know by you, but here, even if you manage to convince an agent to publish you (or to work to make you been published) you first have to PAY the agent. So, in the end, if you want to be published, you MUST PAY A LOT OF MONEY!!!
It seems here publishing it's only for rich people!
