I came across this website but I'm wondering who on this forum colored what pics

I was surprised when I came across a website earlier of little Princess Elisabeth of Hesse-Darmstadt, and see the banner I made in my signature at the top of the website!  Instead of angry, I was kind of happy that they used it.  (:  I was also surprised to see pictures I haven't seen before.

I do wonder if the maker of the website is a member here.

I was brownsing items on Ebay and i stumbled with a book based in Grand Duchess Olga`s  Diaries...when i looked at the cover  of the book i recognize this colorized picture and looks  so familiar!. What do you say, girls?

I have seen many times this coloured picture, on many places (can't remember where)... It is a very well known one, but I never knew who coloured it!

Just started to look at this thread...there are a couple of Bob's colored photos over there as well.

We find people using Bob's photos without permission on a very regular basis.

I would be very surprised if Raegan Baker (who is a longtime member here) did not get permission to use that colored photo for the cover of Olga's dairy. That said, I've just looked through my copy of the book and there's no indication as to where that colorization came from.

I asked to the guy who posted this pic if he did the work and he said no, he just found it on the web. I told him back to be careful when posting colorized pictures of someone else because he could be reported as "art Thef". Im waiting for his reply...

i found that picture on google quite a while ago i used it to back my history book.
perhaps the AP forum would become one of the ' sorry no right clicking allowed' or ' please login to right click' e.t.c

No..that s not the solution. The solution is asking to the person who colorize the picture if that picture can be used. If it is a picture found on google ,which is clearly recolored by someone else,without credit, just DONT use it. Use the black and white one and end of the problem. That would avoid Tons of drama.

The other solution for artists are use watermarks across the recolored pics.
