This picture remind me of a story on the Standart. Nicholas was in his study and reading though his mail, and throwing the envelopes through his open cabin window (is that what they are called?). And up on deck the children used to count the number of envelopes floating in the water... Perhaps that is what Tanya is doing in the picture ;)

Tatiana in a informal pose when she has her hair the way it is in the 1914 formal photos. Cut just above the shoulder?

I always thought that this might be her wig as it looks a little unnaturel I think. I don't know if it's the right time thiugh. Somebody knows?

I think her wig only had hair like it was in the 1913 shots. I don't think her wig would have had short hair.

Here's a couple shots of Tatiana's wig. Ritka's right -- it was made to look like long hair tied up in a bun. (I think it looks rather like a wreath! :P)
