I found this movie in Zamunda some time ago, but I didn't watch it yet. :-[ Although, if you say it's a good movie, maybe I'll find some time and watch it.

Since the Russians are experts in pirating films, including those created by their fellow countrymen, the film is already available online. If you have a Rapidshare account, the film can be downloaded from these links (if you areb extremely patient, the film can be downloaded without purchasing an account):

Thanks for posting the links. I have downloaded the whole movie as I am located in Thailand and it is impossible to purchase here. Yesterday I managed to watch the first part and it is an excellent movie. Once again thanks to the person who made the efforts to upload the movie and subtitles.

Very nice. As David Pitchard said the dresses, uniforms, interiors are very much in detail as they were in that time. Many things reminded my grandmother and her house. I also liked that the whites were shown very human and patriotic what I haven't seen that much in Russian movies.

That is because until the late 1980's the movie production was controlled by the Communists who would not put the Whites into good light. There is even a part in Boris Pasternak's 'Dr. Shiwago" which mentions the Whites in a positive light, however that exerpt was banned.
