How Did You Found This Website?
« on: November 21, 2008, 07:37:36 AM »
It just occored to me, this is a huge majore website. I even herd a historican called this a cult website... -I'm not sure how I feel about that- There so many members on here and yet... I found this wandering the web. So how did you guys found this website?

I remember founding this website through google, I was pretty much starved to talk about the romanov's so I usually went through amazon reviews. Not helpful, -that's where the AA supporters live- I randomly found a link about discussion of the book "Romanov Bride" and I new it then I have found my mecca!! I love coming here, and talking to people about this stuff. So I'm alittle curious on how other people found this website, and what was ther reaction to it?

Back when I first started reading about the Romanov's, I was looking for more pictures of them (I had only seen the few in Anastasia's Album) and I think I typed in "rare OTMA Romanov Photos" in google and got a thread on this site "Rare Pictures of OTMA" in having fun. and I haven't left since.

Don't we all love google?  I found this website google searching images of Princess Charlotte, the kaiser's sister, and found a wonderful one of her and Moretta on the  Hohenzollern thread.  I tried to ignore this site for a while, then actually started poking around to see what was here.  I was hooked, now I'm addicted and check this thing for updates at least 3 times a day.

I googled 'Alexei and Alexandra photos' in search bar, sometime in 2005/2006. ;-D

For me it was actually listed in my history textbook! Well, not the forum, but the main site... it was a little footnote in the Russian Revolution section, something like "explore the splendor of Russia's Tsars online" and gave the site. So I typed it in and all the pictures amazed me. I don't know if I found the forum in the same way or not though, can't remember.

^Ditto.
Mind you, I've been a member on some other forums that I don't care to discuss çause they're snooty. So I came back to this one. It's always been of interest and because I don't want the snooty members following me, I don't list this Forum as one of the best, which it is, but if I mention it they'll all come over and that wouldn't be very nice now would it, so we'll remain our own little secret won't we? :-X

My mom found it one year I was home schooled. I had just read my first Romanov book "Anastasia:The Last Grand Duchess" and was interested in the Romanovs for the first time. I was 11 then and she didn't realize that four years later she would have given me a full-blown obsession! :) my interests changed (The Tudors,Marie Antoinette,The Civil War,Sissi) but they kept coming back to the Romanovs.  :)  :D
