How interesting to be a teenager in Post-Soviet Russia!  It was so exciting when the Berlin Wall fell even though I am a long way away in Australia.

The Grand Duke's memoirs sound good.  I think that they're available free online?

Toots, thank you for recommending Cronin.  I am reading 'Louis and Antoinette' and love his writing.
