It Is Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga Nicholaievna Romanova

Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.

Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched your life
Just by being there.

Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.

Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"

Happy - awfully belated- Birthday, my dear one! You are my favorite Grand Duchess and I'm very sad just thinking that you'd gone so soon. But now you are an eternal Angel in Heavens.

So if you were going to celebrate her birthday, what would be the most accurate date to her birth? The 15th or 16th?

Well I mean it was the 15th in 1895...but then it got bumped up a day because of the calendar change in 1900. I still would consider it the 15th I'd suppose....or maybe you could celebrate both days?!?!

November 3 on the Julian calendar is November 16 on the Gregorian and has been since the start of the 20th century. Olga herself would have celebrated on what was for her the 3rd of November, but as far as people living in Western countries, she would have been celebrating on their 16th of November (at least after 1900). It really isn't a complicated thing. I read in many places that Russian Orthodox celebrate Christmas on 7 January. That is not true - Christmas is celebrated on 25 December - on the Julian calendar. The fact that that date is 7 January on a different calendar does not mean much.

Yeah. That's true. I have some Orthodox friends, here, in Argentina and they celebrates Christmas the same day than us, Catholics...So..why some websites saids that they celebrates it January 7? I read it too and I do not know WHY the keep telling a thing that it isn't true.

Orthodox Churches (including the Russian) on the Old Calendar celebrate Christmas on December 25 according to the Julian Calendar. However that is January 7 on the calendar the Western world uses.

Her birthday is on the 16th, since the calender moved up a day in 1900.

So... if it was 15th in 19th C and 16th in 20th C, does that mean it's meant to be 17th now in 21st C?
