Prince Charles to strengthen the power of the British Monarchy?

It would seem that Prince Charles is considering strengthening the influence and power of the Monarchy on British society, if and when he becomes King.  This is potentially an extremely significant shift in the use of Royal power within the UK and would result in fundamental change.  Perhaps the most contentious issue is the fact that “informal discussions are under way between Downing Street and Buckingham Palace about the abolition of the centuries-old ban on a Catholic monarch".
