Yeah, I guess so. When I first saw Maria's eyes, I thought that it was rare to have such large eyes. That was when I was 8, so I've learned since then.

I have always thought that the Indian Actress Aishwarya Rai has similar eyes to Maria's. That's maybe because they are huge and beautiful too. It may give you an idea how Maria's eyes could look like:

At that time, I think it was considered beautiful to have fine thin lips. I remember reading somewhere that Minnie said that Maria was beautiful but her lips were too full. But if I was Maria, I would have liked my lips.

However, Maria was a beatiful girl: her "blue saucers" were wonderful and her full lips too.

I didn't read it on a book, but on a forum. I suppose it was on this one, but maybe on a French one. I've visited a lot of OTMAA and NAOTMAA sites and blogs in the last five years.

I don't know why the whole matter is so terribly important. The Emprees could have said it or not. My own granny - who is NOT and Empress always said that I should be prettier with lighter hair, cause my face is a little pale and a blondest hair could have enlightened it (my hair is dark blonde, as Olga's one). And I'm sure that my granny didn't want to be mean when she said it...

You believe you are right. I don't think Minnie said it to be mean, but it believe that it is still, not a kind thing to say. But of course, that is just my opinion. If I was Maria, I would have been terribly hurt. But of course, we don't know for sure that Minnie said anything. I hope she did not.
