Because Luidjy Lukeni(?) was anarchist he got some idea in his head that by killing Elisabeth he will stop the monarchy or something like that... Which is very stupid....

Elisabeth was for long time a sad, depressed and tortured woman. She spoke often about death. I think she was longing for it.

She got to many losts and she was tired....Probably thats why she was waiting for death to come.....
