Elisabeth's aunt, Queen Amalie of Saxony, lost 6 of her children. It is far more depressive I think, and Amalie would not become a "martyr". Even the Archduchess Sophie lost two of her children, her only daughter, and Ferdinand Max.

Sisi may suffered a lot, but not more as other woman at that time in her family... I don't want to hurt Elisabeth, but I don't like, when somebody is soo pity of her and ONLY her, it is not fair.

Archduchess Sophie lost actually 3 children: Maria Anna (1835-40), Stillborn son (1840) and Ferdinand Max (1832-1867).

Almost all pictures of Sissi i have from there... and because it's big i still find new new... There was one of Sophie too.. i uploaded it in her section..

Yes it is i still can't read it whole... Usually i sit on the floor and look it but on the 20 i get tired from so much information....

I think the last one affected her more deeply...

Indeed, Ludovika was with all of her children(really well don in "Sophie - Sissi's Kleine Schwester). Like her sister, Sophie - the Archduchess - , the name of the family was more important then her own happiness, or that of her children. She supported them, cared for them deeply, but was really strict in their upbringing. Max was the one who wanted his children to have a more free upbringing.

Sisi was not that close with Sophie. She was closest with Nene & Marie.

Indeed, they were not that close. Yet they had, as most of their sisters, a tragic life(Queen Marie of Napels, Nene, Sophie, Elisabeth - as far as I know), and a tragic death. Sisi was, as everyone would be, completely shocked because of Sophie's death(in one of my book it's beautifuly mentioned - fiction but really good: Ludwig II, who has died, apears to Sisi and mentions one of their loved-ones will die and that the three of them will share eternity. Later Sophie dies and Sisi realises her end is becoming near. Fiction as I said, but really beautiful. The book really shows how complex Sisi's character was.
