I have read that the Empress Elisabeth's mother dined with many of her pooches....... She was accustomed to de-flea the dogs and put the dead fleas on a dinner plate on the table....... the Empress' ladies in waiting would watch this with disgust.......Oh well ;D

Forgot my reply - shame on me. Well it is odd to imagine her dining with her dogs too, can you imagine

I don't think so. Sisi is not a sailors's girl. She was more a horse woman.

Yea, I only read that once and saw it in "The Crown Prince - but you noticed it is quite romanticised too, and I think the tattoo was more to show Sisi's nature, how she went in agains the court and all. Don't think she had one, it's possible but I don't think so.

She did had an anchor tattood on her shoulder..
in her later years she didn't do much horse riding and traveled alot through the oceans..with heavy storms she was the only one on deck and her ladies in waiting (irma sztaray wrote it in her book) got seesick and Sisi even once said she rather like to be on a boat with people who were convicted to death cause they got nothing to lose...

Worse thought. I never thought she'd be saying this (though I would be saying this to myself, too)
