I had heard rumors but could not find anything to confirm till I saw 'The Crownprince'. The historian Ms. Hamann was a consultant for this movie and also she mentions it again in the link to the ZDF in the other thread.

Maybe we could ask the historian where he got the information. The Doctor who examined the empress's dead body ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_b__UzLGdY
.. and in the book of brigitte hamann and other books but i dont remember the names
even her daughter marie-valerie wrote it in her diary..
I got the diary so i will look for the text in it..
i will write it here(translated to english):

3. December 1888:
Mama(sisi) thinks the christmas present is beautifull. We talked about all kinds of things, when Papa(franz joseph)came in the room and asked me(marie valerie), if i cried about the terrible suprise , that mama had A anchor on her shoulder, what i think is so original and not so horrible. " oh no", sighed mama, "i rather cried about an other suprise".
papa: "well?". Mama: "she(marie valerie)wants to tell Franz( franz salvator), that he her chosen one is.".
Papa in a short manner : "What does that mean?"...

and so it goes on...

So it is true. I saw the trailer, seems to be good and I've seen it three times now so it should be true, and if Brigitte Hamann said she had one it is probably true since she is one of the best historians on her life.

I'm just surprised because even before, tattoo is  already a common thing in the world but not totally accepted in Royal Protocols.

Amazing colored fotos  by the most wonderful Yelena Aleksandrovna. Endless thank you very much!

@ Ingrid Alexie:
Yes it was a common thing..but she was extravagant.. and she always did what she wanted not how the court wanted it..so there is another reason..
and its an anchor because she loves the sea.. she even once said that she was the female flying dutchman that sails around the seas..:p

@Irina Alexandrovna :
For all i know is that the book is only in german.. and i have it in german so i translated it to english(but only that part..not the whole book :p) so everyone here on the forum could read it..cause not everybody can speak german..:)
