Tatiana & Cleopatra
« on: October 23, 2004, 06:12:01 AM »
I was reading through threads this morning and read something that said Tatiyana tried to get close to the guards, this instantly reminded me of Queen Cleopatra who got the Egyptian Throne Back By seducing Ceaser, to bad Tatiyana had Limited time as im sure it would have worked.

*Olga scratches head in confusion*

Tatiana would have used her sexual powers to seduce the guards and entire Red Army, including the Bolsheviks, and consequently have taken the throne for herself?

 ???
I'm afraid I don't understand either, seeking contact with someone is hardly the same as attempting to seduce them and also, there's quite a difference between a guard and an emperor. I don't think one guard could have made a difference. If an escape or new 'coup d'état' were to have worked, she would have needed far more powerful people to help them, and even so it's an unlikely notion. At least in my humble opinion.

I can't think of two women more entirely different than Tatiana and Cleopatra!  The idea of Tatiana, whose mindset was so devout, attempting to seduce the guards in the Ipatiev House is not to be borne.  In 'The Fate of The Romanovs' there is an intelligent exploration of the girls' trelationship with their captors - I can only suggest that as a possible solution to this particular notion.

Well, this "anyone" thinks  NOT ! Emphatically, and I am no big devotee of the so-called "Romanov virtues".
Cheers,

Don't leave us dangling Robert....what do you mean?  Were they not sexy looking or pretty enough or were they just too "nice"?

I really don't believe Alix or Nicholas would have allowed it. If one of the girls had thought of it, I'm pretty sure Alix would have put a stop to it

They certainly were not sexy fashion plates at least by today's standards, but ok, I suppose young & pretty enough, especially airbrushed to the max !
I was referring to their piety, chaste & so virginallly pure as to blind the wicked souls of the [almost] most evil of hearts.
None of them conger up the image of  the vipress Cleopatra, seducing her foes with the charms of the ultimate vamp, do they ?
Even their fates share no romantic connection. One pure tragedy the other equally drama but lacking in sympathy. [unless one finds sympathy for the devoted suicide].
Cheers,
Robert

Hey Michelle,

I completely agree with you, OTMA were absolutely beautiful. Shame on you Robert for calling them merely "pretty enough". That remark 's almost sacrilegious  ;)
I don't believe any of the girls would have even thought about seducing the guards, for they were indeed very virtuous and devout. It wouldn't have entered their heads.

Now before you all go completely crazy I'm afraid that I have to agree with Robert.
All pretty girls undoubtedly but not gorgeous and in wordly terms possibly too naive for their own good.  We know that Alix had ensured that they were sheltered from the world, and of all the girls, Tatiana was the most devout.  Probably the last person to entertain thoughts of being rolled up in a carpet and unleashing her feminine charm (and yes I know that tale is apocryphal!)
However some insist that there may have been some harmless flirting in the Ipatiev house and we do know that Marie was guilty of some transgession (the details of which remain unclear).
It all seems a bit sad in light of subsequent events......
