The house is not the chocolate box image that my imagination had conjured up either, it's still a very fine house though. The next time I'm going round the M25 I may possibly take a detour and have a look.

I don't have access to my books at the moment , but if Nicholas & Alix stayed there prior to their engagement (1894), then I think we are looking at a date of early 1890's. Anyone feel free to correct.

wonderfull House! Wonderfull family!  Victoria is so beautifull! well she was not a beauty like ella or alicky but on these photos she look so beautifull! and Louis oh my.. lol

i would love to see more rare pictures of them.

Thanks for the info. Since Louis moved around like Affie (Edinburgh) and stayed in places like Malta. People seem to think that they live there or Heligenburg in Darmstadt. Thanks for the info. I wonder if there were any inside shots of the rooms ?
