Hello. I'm new to this system and thought it might be a great way to share and gain information on the Romanov's. I have a great passion for learning about the Romanov's and in particular Nicholas II and his family. I was wondering if any of you could recommend some good books, websites or any other sources particularly relating to Alexei as I am particularly interested in him.

Aleksei Nikolaevich is special tragic figure in Russian history -- but I am sure you will find here many information about Heir, his manner/behaviours/physic and social life, then diaries, anecdotes,hemophilia, stories told by his witnesses, tutors, friends, his life, genarly. Just look around or tell us more specific what you would know about him.

Can you read Russain? There have been two especially nice Russian books about him over the last few years:

Tsesarevich, by Barkovets & Krylov
Tsarevich Aleksei, by Barkovets & Tenikhina

In English, there's a chapter devoted entirely to Aleksei in Charlotte Zeepvat's book, Romanov Autumn.

Aside from those specific sources, just about any book dealing with Nicholas II will include substantial info on Aleksei, as he was so central to the family.

Romanov Autumn I might try to look for that one. I just brought Nicholas and Alexandra from the bookstore. Reading about him is very interesting.

Thank you Sarushka  for recommending Romanov Autumn, i finished reading it and thought it was a brilliant book. i Was wondering if you had ever read the book, THE LAST DAYS OF THE ROMANOVS tradgedy at Ekaturinburg. If so what did you think of it? I thought it was a very good read.
