I adore her Empress Elisabeth in Luchino Visconti's movie "Ludwig", but don't like much her Sissi in trilogy by Ernst Marischka.

I knew that the movie about Ludwig is much better than Sissi's ones (Referring to Romy)

I agree and I wish Luchino Visconti would have done a similar movie like 'Ludwig' about Empress Elisabeth. I believe Romy Schneider tried to fight off the Sissi image for the rest of her life! She was a beautiful woman and, imo, was physically more like the Empress then any actress since.

Ahh, she was a beautiful woman and great as Empress Elisabeth, in Visconti's Ludwig she really showed the true nature of her character, though she portrayed her too Romantic in the Sissi-trilogy - but that is not her fault, she didn't write the script. It is sad she, like Empress Elisabeth, had a sad life and that it was way too short.

Well, I like both Sissi's trilogy and Visconti's "Ludwig"...if I have to chose one, I prefer "Ludwig" by Luchino Visconti, I'm agree with you, in my opinion Romy Schneider acted better in "Ludwig", but in Sissi's trilogy she was amazing too.
