Scorpios are indeed moody and sensitive, and they have a mystery about them. In fact, Scorpios are considered the most magnetic people of the zodiac. It doesn't matter what they look like, they always attract people. Although they are a stubborn (fixed) water sign, and are very sensitive, they have a protection mechanism known as the "Scorpian sting". When they are hurt, they sting back with something, whether it be with words or physically, so that people won't realize how much they are really hurting. And they are romantic, too!!! Mystery and intrigue are the order of the day!!!!

After Tatiana, Maria is the other GD i like. there is something sweet about her, and her photos look natural. I felt bad the way she was treated as a toddler.

this is my favorite pic of her she reminds me of a sweet cherub..

I am so glad to see this thread. Maria has always been my favorite too. Here is one of my favorite photos of her.

My dear Mama! How are you feeling. I wanted to tell you that Olga would very much like to have her own room in Peterhof, because she and Tatiana have too many things and too little room. Mama at what age did you have your own room?Please tell me if it's possible to arrange. Mama at what age did you start wearing long dresses? Don't you think Olga would also like to let down her dresses. Mama why don't you move them both or just Olga. I think they would be comfortable where you slept when Anastasia had diphtheria. I kiss you. Maria

You know, I have always linked Maria with Beth too. All the girls are like the March sisters! I've always thought:

Meg=Olga
Jo=Anastasia
Beth=Maria
Amy=Tatiana

Anyone else feel the same way?

I've noted a few parallels too, Margarita. But I would classify them thusly:

Meg=Tatiana (the "in-charge" sister)
Jo=Olga (the writer, and the bluntly outspoken one)
Beth=Maria (artistic, sweet natured)
Amy=Anastasia (precocious, spoiled, and wanting to be the center of attention)

Of course there are some notable differences between both quartets, too. But it is tempting for those of us who grew up with Little Women to find the similarities.

In fact, I'd say that because the Romanov sisters numbered four, I was all the more drawn to them--perhaps subconciously--due to my earlier appreciation of Little Women.

I agree, anyone who loved the book Little Women would find the similarities (as I have above, but I think yours are more accurate).

Also, Georgiy is right. She's a saint in the Orthodox Church, and if the DNA proved that differently...also wouldn't we have heard about it?
