I am looking for two photos -- one of Nicholas and Aleksei, on AP balcony, said to be taken in 1915, which I doubt...(Most likely 1913/4). Aleksei looks bit fat, like he is ill, and another one of Alexandra, Nicholas and Aleksei from same day and same place. I think it could be find at Beinecke Library, I am not sure.

There should be lots in the Ella board. There's only a couple photo threads to look through now that Svetabel's cleaned it up.

NII is in his uniform (Probably cossacks, sorry, I am not very good at recognizing uniforms) but Aleksei is in his sailor uniform, with dark trousers.

Yes -- that's one I am talking about. I think there must be fuller version, or even one more of Alexandra with them. I doubt if it was taken in 1915.

I agree. It would be odd to see Aleksei in a sailor suit at that point during the war.

Well, I think it was indeed 1915.
 Just look at these photos:





I think, they all are from one and the same session, and the last one [with Misha in caucasian uniform] was taken at Tsarskoe Selo exactly in 1915.

Aglaya, I think you're right after all. Judging by their location in the Beinecke albums, these were probably taken either in very late 1914 or early 1915. Vyrubova's albums are a bit jumbled, but these photos are on the same page as the photo of OTM on the day of Konstantine Konstantinovich's funeral (1915). The previous two pages are nursing shots from the lazaret (1914), and pictures of Vyrubova recovering from her rail accident (January 1915).

I think Alexei wore sailor uniform during WWI. When the Imperial Family visited Crimea by train, Alexei was wearing his sailor uniform. Remember the pictures that we thought was taken at Peterhof in 1916?

He indeed wore his sailor suit at Sevastopol and Evpatoria in 1915 and 1916, and in personal life a AP. One of Misha can be found at Alix's album, and indeed labeled as 1915. So many anomalies, I can notice.
