Was Rasputin ever aboard the Standart
« on: February 19, 2009, 08:30:43 AM »
I've always thought this room was a cabin aboard the Standart:

(Albeit mostly because of the girls' sailor suits and the lifebouy-shaped photo frame on the wall in the first photo.)

However, this photo of Rasputin in the same room is labeled by Prince Michael of Greece as having been taken in "Tsarskoye Selo" in 1908:

Does anyone know for sure where this room was -- Tsarskoye Selo or the Standart?

I can tell you it is not the Standart....I'll have Bob look at the photos to see if they are TS.

Also, at least in Spiridovitch, there is no mention of Rasputin ever being on board the Standart.  I do not believe that Rasputin ever stayed overnight with the IF anywhere, much less the Standart.

Could it be Aleksei's classroom at Peterhof?

The wallpaper looks to me like it could be a match.

Well, the wallpaper looks the same to me... it could be the same room, although I'm not very sure.

Rasputin never got anywhere near the Standart..........I absolutely agree with Admin.

Also, I have never heard that Rasputin stayed more than a few minutes or an hour or so with the IF at any time. If he had,  it would have been very awkward.

I read he was once very near the Standart, or even on one yacht. Can't recall which one or when, but I am sure I read it. Anyway, I doubt he was on any of IF yacht.

It is Tsarsko(y)e Selo.   ;). He indeed stayed shortly with Family, besides Vyrubova's and Pistolkros' visits him at his house in Gagarinskaya Street.
