I've never seen the first big, I like that it was based on her famous session, I don't know if she
really went for a walk with her baby that day.
The second is totally unknown for me, I like it!! ;-)

I have a book that deals with all the images that Sisi took and the images that artist used from them. A very informative book I got from Vienna. A must for any Sisi fans interested in how her images was sold to the press.

Thank you!! I thought, it might have been her, but was not sure.:-S
Your picture of MV and Elisabeth is one part of one large family portrait. Maybe I'll post it later...

Dear posters,

After cleaning up the Habsburg Forum and all those endless topics about Empress Elisabeth, I should say that numerous doubling the pictures (posting the same 2-3-4 and more times) looks AWFULLY boring and annoying. Had I been a newbie I'd given up looking through the Elisabeth topics even at the Elisabeth with her family Part I.

I keep in mind that most posters are not experts and certainly want to share their finds here, but I also keep in mind that our Forum was not created yesterday and contains TONS of info and pictures. And many others ( before some newbies) came up here, spent here their time posting info and IMAGES, shared their knowledge with us. Such work MUST be appreciated and respected. When someone posts a previously posted image (just the same seen before) I cannot help thinking that a poster just didn't have patience to read older topics...It would not take forever to read them, believe me.

I don't discourage any poster to post pictures, I ask you all to be a bit more patient and attentive, though I know that I sound boring, but ACTUALLY boring would be the Forum with the numerous pages with the same and the same and the same photos.

So, PLEASE:
1. Don't double the pictures, look through the old posts and topics. Post the same picture if the old one was watermarked for example, and you have a clear version, or if the old one was smaller or blurry...
2. Don't quote large pictures. This request is as old as our Alexander Palace Forum, Forum Admin many times explained why we should not quote large photos. It makes a page slower for download and this is a problem for posters who don't have a speedy I-net connection. Especially it looks annoying when someone quotes larger-than-life picture just to say something exciting as "Wow, great piccie! Never seen" and such like.
If you do need to quote a large picture for a discussion when while quoting you can change by yourself img brackets into url brackets inside the quote.

Thanks to all for understanding.

I heard that Empress Elisabeth did not like opals, but in the Hapsburg museum vault there are some pieces attraubuted to her that were opals.

Some moving pictures of the old emperor after the death of the Empress ... Learner's disappearance, he said "nobody knows how much I loved that woman."

Some exceptions like Elisabeth of Bavaria & Albert I of Belgium.

I don't know about that, as King Albert I also died suddenly and tragically in a mountaineering accident while climbing alone on the Roche du Vieux Bon Dieu at Marche-les-Dames, in the Ardennes region of Belgium . His death shocked the world and he was deeply mourned, both in Belgium and abroad. As he was an expert climber, some questioned the official version of his death, although the rumors of murder have been pretty much dismissed by most historians. After that tragedy Queen Elisabeth lived on to see her daughter-in-law Queen Astrid die in a motoring accident in a car driven by her son......
