1. Maria Annunziata wasn't Elisabeth's sister-in-law, but Franz Joseph's sister-in-law as she was married to Archduke Carl Ludwig, Franz Joseph's brother.

2. The picture shows Archduchess Sophie and her twin-sister Marie Queen of Saxony, not their half-sister Caroline Auguste.

The picture is taken from "Sisis Familienalbum" by Werner Bokelberg / B. Hamann. Some descriptions to the pictures shown in the book are wrong, starting with the pic on the cover that is supposed to show Elisabeth but it is showing her sister Marie. Well, and the one showing Sophie and Marie that was mentioned. It can be quite confusing at times. It is a nice book, though.

1 when someone marries the brother of your husband she becomes also your sister in law..as far as i know sisi was married to franz joseph so maria annunziata was also her sister in law..

2. sorry for the mistake didnt know that but the book has much mistakes indeed..

I just checked the Wikipedia entry. In Germany only the wife of your own brother or the sister of your husband is your sister-in-law. Anyway.

everywhere i come the wife of your husbands brother is also your sister in law...what should she else be..a stranger?
