You too picked some wonderful photos to show QueenEna. Nicky is one of my absolute favorites. I actually posted that one of Nicky and his Danish cousins a while ago in the thread about Prince Albert Victor (Prince Eddy) and I am glad to see it has found its way over to the Russian threads. Just as a note for some who may not know, in that particular photo Nicky is the little boy seated in the middle on the stairs with the black (or dark) hat on.
Also I always wondered were that photo of Nicky and Dagmar (the one were she is kissing his little head) actually came from. I have seen it floating around on the internet in several different places but sadly I have never seen it in any publications. Does anyone know were it comes from. I thought I had collected just about every great Romanov photo book and then I see a great pic that I dont have and it kills me. Anyways....

If you look at the cabinet card of baby Nicholas in his carriage and the one of him and MF right below it, it looks like they are the same photo with MF just taken out of it at the time by focusing on Nicholas.

This is a great photo, it almost has a modern "informal" quality to it. you don't see too many photos like this from that era....

I found the other day, old French newspapers which go back to 1915 to 1918 on one of them, there is the tsar who speaks at Generals Janouchkevitch and Rouzsky (I do not have the place to put it entirely )  Do you know this picture ? Have you other picture of the tsar and his army ?

A lot of photos of the Tsar with the Army were published in the Russian newspapers and magazines during the War, when he went on inspection tours and after he assumed Supreme Command in 1915.

I have also seen some photos in French and British War-time magazines. What are you looking for precisely, maybe I can help?

I for one, would like to see other photos of Nicholas II from these various sources which are so different than the  "family man" photos seen on the other threads.

I have this book…but no photos (paperback edition). But I found the same photoi in a Russian book: (left to right): Grand-Duke Dimitry Pavlovich (then ADC to the Emperor); "Gen. Nilov" (it looks like him, but Admiral Nilov, the Emperor's Flag Captain should be in Navy uniform I guess); General Count Grabbe C.O. of His Majesty’s Own (Cossack) Escort; Col. Drenteln; Gen. Narishkin (in the back); Palace Commandant Gen. Voeikov; the Emperor; Court Minister Freedericksz; Prince Dolgorukov; Court Doctor Prof. Fedorov.

You are all probably very familiar with "Camera and the Tsars" by now. It has the best pictures of Nicholas II as a baby and toddler. My favorite one is the big oval portrait in the beginning of the book. I think he was about three years old? He has the deepest eyes I think I've ever seen. Does anyone have a scan of it?
