I wonder also why the older Greek boys were'nt in the original version either. Tino, George and Nicholas, like George of Wales and Waldemar were added, to the back left.

I really love this group portrait.

I think it was because the original version was based off of who was there at the time. In later versions (like the one that Queen Alexandra had commissioned for herself) GV, Princes George, Nicholas and Constantine of Greece and the Duke of Cumberland were added.

Oh yes I did'nt mean to say Waldemar, I meant Ernst Cumberland. yeah.

I wonder were they were at the time. It was uncommon for the Greek boys not to be at special, large family gatherings.

I love that last one. :D

I wish I or someone else could post a bigger version of it. :-\

The NPG has some of the best pictures of Eddy - pity they are so small! >:(

That last picture really personifies his dashing image and his nickname ''Prince Eddy Collar and Cuffs".  :)

You can order copies of the photos from the NPG - in any size you want, too.  The clarity and quality is excellent.

For how many?

I will look into it.

Yes, BF, I have a HUGE one of this framed in my home -- it's just superb and one of my very favourite images of His Royal Highness...I just gave the order number and said "Make it the biggest you've got, thanks"!  And they did!

I also have three other ones from the NPG too -- one I think you have seen!  I can't remember the cost now but they will supply a quote on request.

I think you need these Eddy gems, don't you?  ;) :D

Gee, Grace it seems we have similiar taste as far as the best picture of Eddy is concerned.  ;)

I agree I need the best of these pictures. I will get them in due time, as I don't see this obsession fading any time in the future.

 :D

There are some of Eddy as a baby which I don't think are him on the NPG site:

This one looks more like Louise:

And this is Louise too?

And isn't this one George?

The ones I will order will not be any Baby or child pictures, I like Eddy the grown man the best.  :)

I think I know why too!  :P :-*

If I'm not mistaken, the first one is Maud, the second Louise and the last one is Eddy!

While it does cost money to order the photos - it's worth remembering that you'll have them forever.

Yes Grace I bet you know why.  ;D

Anyway, I have decided to get numbers 21, 22, 23.

With numbers 21 and 23 the most important.

On number 21 he just has the most classic Eddy expression:

  :-*

I can't believe the NPG doesn't have a single one of their 29 Eddy pictures on display.

And we don't even know what number 29 is!

Money isn't much of an object as far as Eddy is concerned. I nearly bought a Eddy plate for like $333 US the other day, but I managed to refrain. It was the same plate that is in Edward VII's Children by Van der Kiste.

Grace,

when you ordered your portraits - what type of Print did you get out of these three:

Digital
Premium Colour
Premium Black and White

and what type of Mount did you get

Canvas paper
or
Canvas Mounted Photographic Paper

I'm unsure what to choose :-\

Now you're testing my memory - it was a while ago!  I think at the time digital was not available so I got premium black and white.  I didn't order any mounts - just the photos.  They came rolled up in a heavy post tube and were in perfect condition.  You will be amazed at the quality - I just couldn't take my eyes off them (still can't  :P).

I have just visited the NPG's website - they have some newly listed photos of Eddy as a baby and child which I haven't seen before!  I may order one with Alix holding Eddy - my two favourite royals!

I'd better get off here now - I'm going a bit silly - I'll read these posts tomorrow and start groaning, probably... ::)

Yes, I was just wondering if Premium B and W would be very spectacular - but by your description I think they will be.

They do have a couple of new ones I hadn't seen before.

and

and this looks a bit different

Louise as a baby is so cute.

If you order one of Alix and Eddy you must be sure it is really Eddy. They have some mis-labelling problems, and I find it hard to tell them apart sometimes when they are infants.

You're not going silly!  :)

The pic doesn't work Grace.  :)

I will post one.

Eddy commemorative Plate. Currently on sale on ebay - search under ''Duke of Clarence".

Rather too expensive unfortunately.  :(
