Heres a quote from when Alexei was very ill at Spala:

"When I am dead, it will not hurt anymore, will it, Mama?...When I am dead, build me a little monument of stones in the woods."

That almost made me cry when I read it, I was spying on my little sister once about a day or two ago and I saw her reading the page site where I found this quote and she was starting to cry so much, its so nice seeing my little sister care so much about the Romanovs, I started at about her age too, she's 13 now...no I think I was 12! ;)

Awww...he was such a charming boy! I absolutely love him.  :-* I think out of all of them, Alyosha is my faveorite.  I accually made him a little monument of stones once.   ::) *embarresed*

He always was ever since I was like 9!!!!!!! So what kind of monument did you make? ;)

 :) Maybe i was nine, i dunno, I was in 5th grade...how old r u now? Yea, Maria_R...your quote was great...i was one i accually didnt have already :o and i luv it. My momument was pretty small, but it has red stones at the bottom (for bloodshed 4 no reason) blue and purple in the middle (for his personality...he was so cute, but mature) and some other dark colord going up. Then at the top there was a single white rock.

How do we really know he actualy said that?

He did say it, when he "dying" at Spala in 1912. And it must be true because there is a small statue of him at Peterhof like he asked for. The same quote is written on a book I bought from the palace as well.

I saw those quotes in some book...for some reason I'm thinking Nicholas and Alexandra, but that can't be right...my copy is falling apart, i really need a new one.
