Hi,

Well, I thought since this was under "The Windsors" portion that we could only invite Windsors to the banquet.  And, since I really wouldn't be too interested in dining with any of them (well, maybe The Queen or Queen Mother), I disregarded this thread.
But now, I see we have all manner of royals - foreign & domestic - so these will my guests....

It should be a riproaring dinner party --

Ivan the Terrible <-----> Elizabeth Bathory
Catherine de Medici <-----> Vlad the Impaler
Alexander the Great <-----> Tzu Hsi of China
Messalina <-----> Genghis Khan
Peter the Great<-----> Elizabeth I

Haven't decided on the courses yet but we may end up with "blood pudding"  I won't say who's!!!

This was fun...

Oh yes me too!...I want to go to your party, but Vlad the impaler frightens me, please keep him busy with the "blood pudding" and keep him away from me...I want to talk with Caterina De Medici.  :)

Hi,

Dear RF4E,

OK, I may get you in next to Elizabeth I - just don't mention Mary, Queen of (you know where!!).....
Catherine would be interesting to talk to but I don't know about her little vials of poison - what it!!
And, I've told Vlad that we may have steak for dinner but no stakes allowed!!!

Let the Cristal champagne flow!!!

Isn't Cristal the champagne of choice of the hip-hop generation?  How very daring of you - be warned that P. Diddy may crash your party.

If it was a real dinner party, the problem with inviting so many big personalities would be that they'd clash and vie for attention and domination of the conversation - imagine Queen Victoria and Elizabeth I at the same table! Or Diana, Princess of Wales and Empress Elisabeth of Austria for that matter!

I see potential for a cat fight.  lol.

My hen party:
1. Queen Mary
2. Elizabeth I
3. Queen Victoria
4. The Princess Royal (Anne, that is)
5. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark
6. Empress Alexandra Feodorovna
7. Queen Maud of Norway
8. The Princess Royal (Vicky, that is)
9. Eleanor of Aquitaine
10. Empress Maria-Theresa

This has potential written all over it!

Yes, that set pounced on anything over the top, excessive and outrageously expensive just so they could project a certain "image." I'm sure that their appreciation of that fine champagne goes as far as that as well. However, as you know, Cristal goes back to the heady days of the Russian Imperial Court and was made primarily for the Czar's of Russia.

By the way, I love your hen party! Got room for one more?!?!  =  )

On a different note, you all have brought so many smiles to me and I have loved reading every post. Everyone's list has been over-the-top creative (in a fantastically wonderful way) and fun!

Regards,

Of course there is room for one more, an odd number at a dinner party is always so terribly awkward.  Come on down!

Ok I am willing to have a go but my dining table only sits 6 so it will have to be buffet style - stand around holding your plate and glass

1. Prince Henry of Prussia (1862-1929) - I refuse to believe he was as bland as they say
2. Prince Georg Wilhelm of Cumberland (1880-1912) - because of his health he lived life to the full and paid for it with his death in a car accident
3. Princess Louise of Denmark, Princess Friedrich of Schaumburg-Lippe (1875-1906) - I want to know what happen at the beach in 1904
4. Duchess Elisabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, 1st wife of King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia & mother of the Duchess of York (1746-1840) she was exiled to Stettin from 1769 to her death)
5. Princess Mary Adelaide, Duchess of Teck (1837- 1897) - she has to sit next to me - I think we would spend the night laughing at others
6. Princess Maria Anna of Anhalt, Princess Friedrich Karl of Prussia (1837-1906) did she marry her Chamberlain?
7. Hereditary Prince Alfred of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha (1874-1899) - I want to hear about those parties in the barracks at Berlin
8. Princess Elizabeth of Great Britain, Landgravine of Hesse-Homburg (1770-1840) - if you read her letters (and read into them) she wasn't blind to the carrying on of her family around her
9. Landgravine Charlotte of Hesse-Cassel, mother of Queen Louise of Denmark (1789-1864) - was she as bad as Queen Victoria thought and was she good at being that bad?
10. Princess Hilda of Anhalt (1839-1926) no husband but she went to everything, visited everywhere - the advantage of no ties holding you to one place!!!
